NICO Nanobubble India Co., a leader in nanobubble technology, conducted a comprehensive study at Manchikere Lake, Manipal, Karnataka, to assess the efficacy of NICO Nanobubbles in improving water quality and ecological balance.

Objectives

To evaluate the efficacy of NICO Nanobubbles in increasing the dissolved oxygen (DO) level and reducing the concentration of Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria in the lake water.

Methodology

  • Samples were taken from the lake before testing to identify the DO level and concentration of E. coli bacteria in the water.
  • NICO Nanobubble India Co. deployed its system at the lake site.
  • Water from the lake was recirculated after being infused with oxygen-rich nanobubbles.
  • Samples were taken from the lake every 15 days to evaluate progress.

Conclusion

The case study conducted by NICO Nanobubble India Co. at Manchikere Lake demonstrates the multifaceted applications of nanobubble technology in lake water treatment. Oxygen-rich nanobubbles increased DO levels in the water by 139% and reduced E. coli concentration by 94%.This improvement will help prevent eutrophication and enhance the sustainability of aquatic life, while also ensuring public health and safety in recreational water activities. Additionally, a considerable reduction in algae blooms was observed. Oxygen-infused NICO Nanobubbles, with enhanced aeration and oxidation, promoted the aggregation and flotation of algae cells, offering a sustainable alternative to chemical algaecides. These findings underscore the immense potential of nanobubbles as a versatile and sustainable solution to a wide range of environmental challenges facing freshwater ecosystems.
